Tivoli Miniature world was originally located between St. Catherines and Niagara Falls, Ontario. In the early 1980′s it was sold and relocated to downtown Niagara Falls near Ferry Street. To the best of my knowledge it only lasted there a couple of seasons before it was closed. I assume that it just didn’t attract the expected crowds. When I visited the place I wondered about the wisdom of moving it from a smaller touristy area near St. Catherines to the multitude of competition that it would receive at Niagara Falls. Sadly, I think I was correct. The last I heard was that the attraction was in storage for some time and then sold to a entrapaneur in Europe. Just where I don’t know.

This was a great attraction that I visited several times at both locations in Canada! Really missed it when I realized it was gone from Niagara. Is there any more word on it’s present location?

Thanks for the update! Visited Tivoli Miniature World plenty of times when I was a kid and was thinking of going back this summer. I couldn’t find any info off the web except for your posting. It’s a shame that Tivoli MW no longer exist. Had many wonderful memories there and was thinking of taking my kids for their first visit.

I VISITED THE TIVOLI MINATURE WORLD AMUSEMENT PARK NEAR ST. CATHARINES, ONTARIO WHEN I WAS A PRE-TEENAGER IN THE 1960′S. IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS AMUSEMENT PARK AND WHERE IT IS LOCATED, PLEASE GET BACK TO JOHN ARCHER SLOBODIN AT JOHN_SLOBODIN@YAHOO.COM (.) WAS IT ANYWHERE NEAR A FORMER RADIAL RAILWAY AMUSEMENT PARK NEAR GRIMBSY, ONTARIO, CANADA? THANK-YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST.

I remember Tivoli Miniature very well and used to enjoy seeing the scale models of the famous buildings of around the world. Does anyone remember the miniature village between St. Catharines and Niagara Falls sometime around 1967. I recall going to a miniature village which was similar to Tivoli and had a miniature Turbo train around the village. I remember going with my parents,an uncle and an aunt.

  9. Before Tivoli there was CANADIA!

Funny, I was searching for the same information as you.

I was born in 62 …. born and raised in Welland. My mom (now 72) has a picture of my brother and I at Canadia!

It was in Niagara Falls. It was open from 1967 to 1970.

It was truly an inspiring place! I remember watching boats going through the locks … and trains, lots and lots of trains!

To this day I wish I could duplicate the place … it would make an awesome back yard!

Here is a link to the only pages I could find with information on Canadia:

    http://aphan.ca/canadia.php and http://aphan.ca/canadia2.html

    Thanks …. Mike

I worked at Tivoli Miniature World in Vineland. Summers of 1989-1991. Then it moved to Niagara Falls. Was a beautiful place. Have lots of great memories from working there.

  11. Neil says:

I agree, it was a great attraction for the whole family. You felt like Gulliver in the land of the Lilliputians.

Ken: We may have worked at the same time! I was the night security guard there! I have lots of pictures of the place, including the office where it was. It was good times for sure!
